APW
APW is a space where the design merges new typologies and programmes within the existing framework, shaping it into a creative campus that blends work, culture, and community.

Concept
APW, short for A Place Where, is reimagined as a place where communities, programmes, and experiences overlap, and where visitors stay beyond a single meal or event. Time becomes a new currency, giving people more reasons to arrive earlier, linger longer, and return throughout the day.

Understanding the Audience
The strategy begins with APW’s key users: tourists, families, and the surrounding community. Their routines, interests, and expectations inform a broader programme that brings food, retail, culture, education, recreation, and events together in one creative campus.

Time Bank & Idea Dock
The masterplan is organised around two complementary ideas. The Time Bank supports quieter moments through landscaped areas, play spaces, relaxation programmes, and slower experiences where visitors can pause without pressure to consume. The Idea Dock is APW’s cultural and experimental heart, hosting interactive events, pop-ups, exhibitions, and emerging concepts that balance the campus’s slower rhythm with energy and curiosity.

Movement as a Design Tool
The renovation responds to APW’s existing circulation: high- and low-traffic areas, fast and slow routes, entry and exit points, and intersections were studied before new spaces were introduced. Layered pathways create different speeds of movement, while intermediary spaces encourage pauses. Where fast and slow routes meet, shared spaces become places for encounter, interaction, and discovery.

A Horizontal Mall
APW is planned as a mall spread horizontally across the site rather than vertically within one building. Food, retail, events, services, and relaxation unfold along a continuous journey, anchored by the Time Bank and Idea Dock. A mix of small experimental units, medium-scale businesses, larger anchors, event spaces, and shared facilities supports both established operators and emerging concepts.
