The design of the space revolves around four main services offered by the spa – foot massage, body massage, scrub massage and onsen treatment. Each of the space has their unique requirements and mood, yet they maintain a coherent DNA between them via the usage of hardwood, rattan and tiles. The design also pays homage to the wabi-sabi nature of Japanese onsen bathhouses while retaining the warmth and rusticity of tropical Malaysian vernacular. POW Ideas also collaborated with local graphic design agency Kongsi Design to create bespoke wayfinding and visuals to narrate a comforting and nourishing experience for customers right from start to end.
